Safe, Low Cost, Fast and Scalable, Easily Tunable PeNC Synthesis
Perovskite Nanocrystal (PeNC) is toxic Cadmium-free and has a heavy metal content significantly below regulatory limits, easily meeting RoHS standards for commercialization. Heavy metal leakage can be easily suppressed through core-shell structure and encapsulating matrices.
All the elements in PeNCs are abundant and widely available. Material costs can be reduced by up to 1/25 by avoiding the use of rare elements like indium (In) and selenium (Se). Additionally, PeNC synthesis methods are relatively simple, operating at room temperature and under ambient conditions. This makes PeNC synthesis extremely cost-effective.
PeNCs can be rapidly synthesized within minutes, unlike organic emitters in OLEDs (require 3 weeks ~ 3 months). The synthesis process can be performed at room temperature, and optical properties remain stable even when scaled up by hundreds or thousands of times.
Continuous flow systems can also well suit with this synthesis, making it suitable for factory-scale production. The emission color from PeNCs can be easily tuned by changing the halide compositions, covering a wide spectrum from infrared, to visible (R, G, B) and ultraviolet.
SND PeNC Solution
SN Display possess original proprietary technologies for synthesizing high-quality Perovskite Nanocrystals in solution form. Our nanoparticles demonstrate excellent stability under harsh conditions and can be post-processed into various forms.
With our unique core-shell technologies, particle PLQY (Photoluminescence Quantum Yield) can reach near-unity (100%) while maintaining a narrow spectral bandwidth FWHM (full width at half maximum). Additionally, the surface can be modified to suit specific applications.
SND PeNC Color Conversion Film
We offer high-quality Perovskite Nanocrystals Color Conversion Film to convert blue light into true green and red colors. By simply replacing conventional QD-based color conversion films in the display fabrication process, we can achieve hyper-realistic color representation compared to previous displays.
Using cost-effective roll-to-roll coating, we successfully fabricated 100-meter-long films for our prototype 75-inch TV(September, 2023), and we are now realizing mass production. Our current product lineup includes 10.2-inch, 32-inch, 43-inch displays and further customable, and all displays showed wide color gamut coverage of 90-100% of Rec. 2020, the highest ever produced in displays.
SND PeNC Pixel Array
We are developing a PeNC array designed for high-resolution AR/VR displays (≥ 3,000 PPI), to meet the industrial demand. By modulating surface chemistry with resins and various ligands, our PeNC ink enables high-resolution patterning methods such as photolithography, inkjet printing, and transfer patterning. With ultra-small pixels (2-3 µm), we fabricate these pixels into an array to create prototypes of enhanced color-converted Micro OLED/LED devices. This approach will significantly reduce the cost of future displays while improving the color purity of current display technologies.
Perovskite Nanocrystals for LED Lighting
Perovskite nanocrystals can be applied to lighting that meets various needs for various purposes, such as art exhibition halls, dental special lighting, medical special lighting, and smart farms’ lighting.
SN display’s offers highly efficient perovskite phosphors for home lighting and office lighting as well as custom lighting with specific wavelength bands or high color rendering and price competitiveness.
